Your aspirations are very low .... another 200,000 would make more sense. I have several friends with older K's as it happens .. all around the 250,000 mile mark , and apart from the odd clutch - lots of life left. I enquired two days ago about trading in my 2020 Wing against a Stelvio ..... oh no !! .... came the answer , we would 't even consider a 2020 bike with 41,500 miles on it . (crap ... it's not even fully run in yet at that !) ... I digress ................Best bike Ive ever owned. Going better at 37000 miles than new. New shaft at 36k improved smoothness and gearshift.
Hope to get another 36 at least...
You do wonder how much these dealer boys ride bikes or whether they're under a roof much of the time... I remember book mileages being low but it's a laugh the different bullshit re taking one in and selling one out...Ive just changed my 2023 Transalp for a Tiger 900. Dealers quoting very low prices for part ex. Highest mileage one we've seen...14000!
They do seem to want their cake and eat it....sell bikes with the promise of "ride round the world capability and starship mileage"...then suck thru their teeth when you try to trade a bike that may have round the world mileage and tell you "Mileage is a bit high mate...where yer been, Mongolia?" I long ago looked at the smiles per miles and sod the lower trade in price if I'd done more than average mileage. (Main dealers here in France happily sell 21yr old bikes with 50k+ miles on. https://www.adventure-bmw.com/nos-occasions/bmw-1200-gs/)You do wonder how much these dealer boys ride bikes or whether they're under a roof much of the time... Dealers have a glass ceiling at 40k for some reason , my 8K 16 plate went for 4K 3 years later, and then resold for 7kYour aspirations are very low .... another 200,000 would make more sense. PS had a 1200 WC rt ... great bikes !! , 1250 better .... 1300 .... not so sure ?
That seems a good deal with approved 2 year warranty, around £4000 less than most 22 plate bikes with lower miles.John Clark (Aberdeen and Tayside) have a few in stock and a few coming in with folks changing to the 1300RT. Seems to fit your bill - but give them a shout.
I have been dealing with them since 2002 and generally been happy. I bought my new RT from their Aberdeen placeThat seems a good deal with approved 2 year warranty, around £4000 less than most 22 plate bikes with lower miles.
