R65 fuel tank

Does anybody know if a R65 fuel tank will fit on a G/S ?
I know the cap fitting is different but that doesnt really matter.

I've read somewhere that they fit, but carry a bit more fuel than the original G/S. I've got a spare R65 tank that is solid and rust free, but needs stripping/filling/painting if you're looking for one. I'm in the NE.

Or if you want larger… the r100r tank also fits the g/s, but the seat shape doesn’t quite marry up with the back of the tank….

I have G/S single seat on my GS and it fits fine. My other tank is HPN and it fits it too. On GS original tank the seat angle is off like said before.

Hi , i decided not to go for that R65 tank as its a bit difficalt to pick up.
