It's not entirely finished but it's coming up nicely...
It started as that:

Stripped it, powder coated the frame, had some work done on the tank, new wiring loom, valves, valves guides, timing chain tensionners, carbs overhaul, other little bits and here it is now:

Still missing the crash bars, the exhaust silencer which is pretty damaged and rusty:

I might try and get that bit fixed but it doesn't look like there's much hope.

I'm also quiet tempted to put TKCs on, as well as get this:

and try and make a mono sit out of my double one...:eek
Love the look of them and it looks like it could easily be done, no?

Anyway thank you all for your help along the way:thumb2.
Lets just hope it starts!!
Cheers

looks good well done:clap:clap:clap for keeping the little beastie on the road:thumb
id get the end of the exhaust welded by someone , as the rest of it looks ok:thumb

keeper or selling? :augie

exhaust looks shite
Get a newer SS one or adapt a end can off summat else more modern
could be done quite cheap as well :D

The exhaust's pretty rotten I know, but I managed to get it fixed. Got the end cut and a piece of tube of the same the size welded on. DIY but a bit of paint and job done. Pretty good fitting but I'll get it replaced eventually. This bike's a keeper, too much work put into it and not so many around. Put the battery in and it's aliiive!! It all lights up! Valves clearance tomorrow, engine oil and I'll be ready to hit the ignition button. Finger crossed!
I'm having problems with the front forks at the moment. I got the sliders powder coated and when I tried to fit them on, the forks did not slide in. I paper sanded the inside carefully and and it now does. But when I took the bike of the center stand it bottomed down. No front suspension. Got to pull up on the handlebars to bring them back in normal position. I took the forks aparts. Everything looks fine. No broken seals and springs look healthy. It was a b*****d to put them back together but I managed. 220cc of 10w forks oil. Back on but still bottom down. What do you think? Any advise? I have contacted a few motorcycle part breakers to try and find a pair of second hand ones. Anything I could do to try and fixed it though?
Cheers
