R80 G/S Rev Counter misreading ???

Hi all,

Purchased supplementary Rev Counter for R80 G/S 1981.

Appears to be giving incorrect readings...

1) It hovers about the 2000 rev range and appears to only slowly rise compared to true Revs,

2) when pulling cutch in while going along and idling the needle can rise(!) to 2500 RPM!

3) When first started reads excessive revs (1400!)

4) Dips sometimes fractionally prior to climbing

Wiring loom all new on bike (motobins). Do I need to check other things....any ideas??

Answered on the airhead section.. only ask in one place would you? Saves looking all over the place to find out if the answer has already been given...
