Just wanted to share a couple of pics of yesterdays 'shakedown' run on the G/S.
Have just spent 10 months on and off fully restoring it ( not to concourse, to ride) after we had mistakenly sold it 8 years ago....don't ask. I managed to buy it back from Gary in Dublin who stripped it down to parts form and left it in the corner of his garage....So i managed to make him sell it back to me last July for a sensible sum or 'storage money' as i call it.
So i have been busy fettling and spending and thoroughly enjoying getting it fully sorted and it started up first time....absolute testament to the machine and its simplicity.
We had owned the G/S for 12 years beforehand and travelled all over the world on it, most of the miles covered by my wife Colette so the attachment for her was massive. It has covered over 150,000 miles and yes after the rebuild still rides as well as we remember, even the brakes!
I have a full detailing of the rebuild and pics that folk of this parish may be interested in, it may happen sometime and in fits and starts at some point...
Still myself and Colette are very very happy to have the Beemer back, up and running, and never to be sold again..
Steve

Some early pics of the G/S can be seen on Colettes website
