Approached by my neighbourwhile washing the GS. He wrongly assumed some sort of expertise on my part and asked if I thought £1,700 was a good price for a 1983 R80ST in good nick and with panniers.

He has been offered one for sale, liked the look of it, and was thinking of offering £1,500 as a first offer.

Theres one on e-bay of similar vintage for £2,200. Anyone know what the ballpark figure would be for one of these?

Hi,

If you post the question in the "Airhead-section" I think that some of the folks there have an idea regarding the price.

Regards

Dan

£1,500 - £1,700 is a fair price. By now the exhausts should be s/s and hopefully the heads will have been converted to unleaded ( although probably hammered well hard by now !). Goodridge brakeline will be needed as well.
Older BM's are a passion and are sometimes not cheap to maintain unless you can do it yourself.

Excellant road bike though :thumb2
