r850gs riders display

Hi guys I'm a newby on here. Just bought a 850gs but it dosent have a display panel on the right of the instrument panel, its just blank. was it an optional extra to have the information panel? Is it possible to have one fitted? If so i guess the wiring loom would have the facility to take these extra items, which i think would be fuel, gear selector, clock etc.
