R90S advice sought

All these bikes have their day. The mystique that has built up around the R90S may well be justified although I know of a couple that are tucked away in sheds awaiting the day that their owner’s consider it worth digging them out to make a killing - not arrived yet. My first BMW and new bike was a R100CS in 1980 only owned for a short while as I was working abroad at the time and whilst away managed to convince myself that a Guzzi LeMans was what I needed. Anyway the R100CS was a great bike; I’ve had quite a few airheads since and might be rose tinted specs but I think the CS was probably the best.

Chas, I suspect the guys you know, waiting for their day to make a killing, have issed that boat. Prices are on the slide for most stuff with 2 wheels. (in the UK at any rate)

They’re probably aware that they’ve missed the boat, thing is though the bikes were sidelined being hard to live with (unreliable) and didn’t live up to the image - by about 1986 they were both riding something oriental.

These things are cyclical, and old bikes will probably be popular once more and have their day again, it’s whether we live long enough to see it though!

As regards UKGSer 'off topic'...where a discussion about for example buying some oil for my deep fat fryer morphs into the rights and wrongs the Stalin regime....I'd say It's close enough to 'on topic' to be either looked at and dismissed or looked at and 'Mmm, that might work'.
