Sizzling day yesterday, reckon there must have been over 50,000 people there, traffic management was a disaster, 3.5 hours to get there, 6 hours to get home.....:tears:mad:

Nonetheless an awesome day, Red Arrows were great, loved seeing the Lancaster in the Air, Vulcan bomber was stupendous, F16 mind bending (my favourite), Mig 29 pretty cool and the Typhoon will be a force to reckon with.....here's a few photos from my very tiring Saturday....:D

I used to go out with a female from the airbase. She was a bit of a leuchar.

Nice pics there. That's a nightmare about gettin' home. We were in St Andrews yesterday. Saw the Red Arrows flying overhead (not as close as you did mind you) and the traffic was normal. I said to Christine that I thought the roads must be OK for the airshow

Sounds like me tryin tae find my way back tae the But n Ben fae the Bunkhoose twa weeks ago :augie

Nice Photos Paul :thumb

Saw a post on another forum all about the traffic management, sorry mismanagement. Sounds like it was an nightmare.

All I saw in the sky today was a couple of Easyjet planes flying overhead while I painted the exterior of my house. Nearly dropped my ladders on top of my neighbours van  Why anybody would every want to be a painter and decorator beats me. :blast

When I saw a Leuchars post today I thought "Oh crap I forgot all about it and that would have been a good photographic opportunity" but personally was glad to hear the traffic was a nightmare as it makes me feel better having missed it.

apparently it was £10 to park on the base (I never paid), I defy anyone who thinks they were going to get £10 out of me on the basis of such chronic mismanagement to come and have a go if they think they're hard enough.....:D

(my RAF contacts suggest this company won't be getting the contract next year.....:augie)

as for the photo op, I agree, I need a new camera with a big zoom lense

The Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane flew right over my house, at quite low level. Must have been heading up there in the morning. I thought there was something wrong with the lawnmower, until I looked up

Now then - who wants pics of the Mig29?

Also another of the piece of German metal and one of my pick of the pops- the Skyraider.

loved the Polish Mig. May not be the favourite of the environmentalists though. Dutch F16 was brilliant as usual. Managed one of the most flawless slow rolls I have ever seen on an F16. Took almost the entire runway length to execute the roll without hesitation or height deviation.
