Anyone got any thoughts on the above dealer?

The other one in my area is Pidcocks (Long Eaton), I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's used both.

Excellent dealer - just wish they were nearer to where i lived.

Best dealer in the country.....probably
What's more you don't have to climb over a Mini or a 318 to get near a motorbike

Steve

They are brilliant. I am probably mid way between the two and opt for Rainbow every time. Use the search tab at the top of the page - enter RAINBOW - and read through the results.

Yes Rainbow are very, very good. High standards in service and friendly staff - well, most of 'em anyway!
Also done several good deals with Shaun the dealer principal - top bloke.
Been with them for 5 years, once I saw the light.

Cheers

Roger

Just been to see them and their reputation is well earned.

The staff were very friendly and offered loads of advice for what I wanted.

Even when the clock turned 5pm (Closing time) they didn't twitch and I was still there @ 5:25.

Thanks to all who posted and thanks to the guys @ Rainbow!

Been dealing with Rainbow for 10 years now and wouldn't go anywhere else now (2 other BMW dealers are half the distance)

Even if you didn't buy your bike from them..............they're pleased to see you.

Main thing is that they treat you as an intelligent person (not just a cash cow, like some other dealers)

Customer service is excellent.............they don't over promise and under deliver............like many other bike dealers

Saturdays are like a GS riders meet.............with 20-30 riders there at any one time............speaks volumes .............go to some others and it's like 'tumbleweed town' on a Saturday - when this should the busiest day of the week !!!!!!!

Deals are honest and realistic

Clothing section has best selection around, coupled with sound advice

Parts and accessories..........have a good stock of regular items

Service...........best technies in the business

Aftersales............superb now with Graham at the helm

All in all...............just what you'd expect from a family husband & wife run business...................not a Corporate PLC

No connection................except a satisfied customer

It was Graham that sorted me out as all the sales bod's were busy. He was excellent as was the rest of the showroom. I also agree, that was the best selection of clothing around here!

I have a BMW bike dealer 1 mile from were I live, but I travel around 30 miles to Rainbow, very friendly people.

DEALERS

Have dealt with Rainbow since early 90's. Never been disappointed and completely endorse all the positive comments about them in this thread

Steve, like you I live in Nottingham, and have been dealing with Shaun at Rainbow for over 8 years now. We went to Pidcock in Long Eaton looking to get bike suits each over £1000 each and when we asked if they could get ladies fit for my wife Kathy, they tried to fob us off with mens sizes. Spoke to Sarah and Lorna at Rainbow got us all the sizes we asked for, Kathy has long legs, I am a short arse, but they really helped us out no end. Great place and great folk

Rainbow

Never been there myself but always organise my insurance through them over the 'phone and a nicer bunch of people you couldn't meet in a long days ride!
I had an accident and they were most helpful with quotes for replacement gaer etc.
Fine if they knew they'd be getting something from me eventually but they helped anyhow. Truly good customer service. If I lived within riding distance I'd give them all my business.
Pat.

after all the wonderful comments re rainbow i will add my views.
I returned to biking after a 30 yr layoff took cbt and test so got real licence.went to rainbow and saw a nice used r850 so bought it and had year of nice biking ,all ok so far.
Decided to take plunge and move up so tested a gs1150, ok on brief test run so took it back and said ill have one.Quoted 9 months waiting time.
Not being a nerdy boring t..t and not calling in every verse end to have coffee and donuts and talk b.......s ,after about 9 months id heard sweet fa so i phoned and after a slightly vague conversation a bike was materialised for me to pick up.
OK traded old one in took new bike out bought 3 phase suit ,new system helmet, autocom system.
Then things turned to s..t ,took bike in for first service , no spare bike so left to wander around area for 4 hours while bike serviced.
After about 9 months the fork yokes suffered the not uncommon corrosion fault so i reported this and was told i would need to take the bike in to have it inspected to see if the fork yokes really were corroding (Idont know why i would make this up),so after a 60 mile round trip it was confirmed that yes they really were corroded,so parts were duly ordered,to be fitted at the time of the 1 year service.
Took bike in for service and while handing bike over was told by service manager/ receptionist? youve left your bike with the steering lock on but you dont want to do that because you could end up with a broken headstock if it falls over .also youve got crashbars on and if you have a crash this could break the bike where the mountings go on.by this time im thinking what a pile of crap ive paid thousands of pounds for, not to mention telling the insurance co "no i didnt lock the bike securely when it got pinched because i was told it might break"
However this time I have a loan bike ,guess what, its my old bike that i traded in and believe me the engine in that bike was as sweet as a nut(the previous owner serviced it himself) and when i rode my gs home i realised how much better and smoother running my old bike was, the gsfeeling as rough as a bears arse.

By the way the yoke wasnt changed on the service as it was not on the sheet to be done at the time,i was told they had to order one, lets not forget the 60 mile trip the month before when they said they would order one ,but i was told yet another mod had been done this time with the fuel lines.

I then laid the bike up for a couple of months, but when i took it out for a run, the first time i fired it up i could smell petrol, which was peeing out of the feed lines so no run out that day.
Not brave enough to ride a petrol bomb to rotherham i contacted my local bmw dealer and arranged to have the bike fixed there as they were aware of the problems and told me how THEY fixed the fuel problems.
Carefully i rode the bike to them and they fixed the fuel leaking problem and while there i mentioned the corroded yokes and they said they could fix them the next week when the parts they would order for me had arrived.
A week later a phone call said the parts were there so an appointment made and within the hour the new forks.yokes were changed.
On the 1st of this month my 2 year warranty expired and the dealer who supplied my bike RAINBOW has still not contacted me to say my parts have arrived.
I phoned on several occasions to express dissatisfaction.
So because of my personal experience i cannot recommend Rainbow for after sales service.

Sorry to hear that...........not my experience of them at all.
Mike,
I'd write a letter of your account to Shaun Thomas (owner) and I'm sure he'll deal positively with it. FWIW - it's worth 5 mins to write and post it.

I bought my R1100S from Rainbow & had very good service from them, but as I live in Nottingham, I use Pidcocks for service & parts. They are 10 minutes from me and I can't fault the service, I only went to Rainbow because they gave me a better trade in on my suzuki bandit.
