Hi,
Can anyone advise me how to raise the seat height on my gs 1200. I'm 6'6 and already have it on the highest setting. Maybe I need to think about spacers under the seat mounts.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Jack

i'm 6'4", did this at the time on my 05 bike, and now on the 2010 bike. 30mm higher with 'spacers', plus another 20mm with the bmw high seat option (think that is the adventure seat), which is more flat on the top

Looks fairly good to me (spacing to tank etc), feels great, but disadvantages are:
- seat key lock has to go, but locking mechanisme is still there
- buddy seat doesn't look good anymore (i have topcase / adaptor there)
- screen turbulence - still trying to find a good solution -but had that too in even the standard lowest position

Buy a GSA

+1, I'm 6'4" and am much more at home on the GSA than the GS. I had a GS for a short while and had the BMW high seat which gave ample room. However, I think the GSA seat is just as high (if not higher) than the GS high seat, and more comfortable too.

Try the Wunderlich Screen spoiler, gets rid of 75% minimum. You can adjust this one to suit your preference unlike the TT one :thumb2

Have it on order, dealer ran out of them

The 'buy GSA' argument is not entirely valid, but a lot depends on your own driving style and how you feel good. The GSA sits some 20mm higher due to its suspension. But that does not change the seat to peg distance. What i did is increasing that by 30mm vs the GSA. So upper body goes up vs handle bar, and as your arms stay at the same length you have to lean a bit more forward. All in all a slightly more sportsbike position, but sky high, as the leg angle is better too.
It solved the lower pain back i had. Maybe it also results in less weight being put on my backside, as i can sit all day long on the BMW seat

GSA has a higher seat therefore it does increase seat to pegs distance. I have GSA, prefer its seat but to stumpy so have to use standard seat!
