£750 to look like a right twat?
No, it can be done for a lot less:thumb2

I've just bought a rather smart new number might post a picture when it arrives.

I've got an R2 and yes it does make you look like a bellend but hey I've looked worse. Hope that this new jobby proves to be the business and it's abit cheaper...

on the R2 it's been really good lasted ages, cleans up nice when properly covered in shit was warm and dry enough for me so it's okay appart from looking like a lego man

Hi Jackass
Very pleased with mine used it in Wales offroad school and offroad in Portugal in rain and shine dropped the bike numerous times with no damage.
The armour does it job and its comfortable and in this colder weather i just add BMWs wind proof thermal inner jacket.
The only thing I could find to say against it is the fact the outer jacket has a tendency to hold water and takes a while to dry out.
Got mine from Coopers for £600,just make sure you try on different sized trousers as mine arent the same size as the Jacket.

I purchased mine from this very site two years ago for £400 and:

Pro: Great ventilation in hotter climates. Loads of pockets. Good armour.

Con: Leaks like a collander. Too much velcro, forever getting stuck to things. The tabs that hold the goretex liners in place break very easily.

The suit has been washed and proofed (as well as the liners) using Nikwax products (a day-long exercise) and this has improved the water resistance.

If I were going to spend that sort of cash, I would look very carefully at Rukka at the NEC as they had good deals last year.

The HG Toureg - bought Mrs ChasMill the trousers and they fell apart - not well made at all.

I love mine. The original Ronseal suit.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!!

ralle 2's

They are excellent for hot climates, venting very good, protection very good (tested it! ) but not for £750, get a s/h one like I did If I'd done what i did to mine and it had been brand new (looked it but it wasent) I'd have been sick!. For this climate winter use no good, Rukka is the place to go. IMHO.
Dave ( I hate christmas) GS roll on 2010!

I love mine and yes it does look twatish but hey in the biking world riding a BMW makes you a twat anyway in most bikers eyes!

Go for it:thumb I have one and I am happy and I payed £750 and so what:rob

I`d wait for a second hand one, they do come up on here quite often.

However IMO

Summer/Hot weather= brilliant

Winter/bad weather = crap

They are a great shell however you need to wear technical layers under it to stay warm in winter. Unfortunately there are no adjustment straps on the sleeves and only single straps on the sides. :(

This means that it's either too tight in the winter because you bought it to fit with minimal layers under it, or it's all flappy in the summer as you bought it to fit over layers for the winter.

Still, if you only ride for three seasons it's probably the best there is IMHO ;)

And if a particular item comes up quite often second hand, shouldn't you wonder why? :monkeypiz

Well, My cheap suit is great in winter, the thermal lining really works well, to the extent that I do not have to worry about specialised base-layers. I just wear a t-shirt or sweat shirt under top & nothing but underpants beneath bottoms. In summer the thermal linings unzip from the top & bottoms, whilst retaining the waterproofing of the outer & the top has zippered air vents that can be opened. Also the jacket incorporates in addition to the long zip for attaching the trousers, a shorth zip to attach my leather pants http://www.getgeared.co.uk/CAFE_RAC..._Combination_Trousers_Mens?sc=15&category=133
Oh & I ride my bike all year round, as it is my preferred & only means of transport.

Well I got mine back in March and wear it everyday. Mine has been completely waterproof (with the liner in and I'm a fussy git so look for any defect) and works brilliantly.

When the weathers cold you do need something else on underneath (like a jumper) but I find the temp needs to be about 1'C or below before I go to that. Mind you only been that low around these parts on one frosty morning since I've had the suit.

In the summer its brilliant. With all the flaps open it like riding in a t-shirt.

Looks wise - I went for the black/grey instead of the blue/grey one. Its called a twat suit but like "Big Nick" said .... just riding a BMW makes you a twat in some bikers eyes.

Price wise I managed to haggle off 25% on my kit.

If you want it - go for it. Its christmas after all :thumb

Revit off track jacket and dakar pants. 400 quidish.
Morocco proof in the summer.
