I took my bike in for the first service today, Seems like most of the accessories for the new GS are on back order,

I had ordered the luggage grid, to replace the rear seat ( i don't need a pass seat),

They had a Rally Seat and rear grid in stock, tried it on the bike, and really liked the look of it, Sooooooo You know the rest,

Only done 60 miles on it, butt ! (pun intended) it's slightly firmer than standard and about the same height, I have the front on high and the rear on low setting, it has a space under the seat to take the tool kit :blast if thats what they call it, and the rear grid finishes it off,

Cheers Graham

Looks nice - you should remove the passenger footrests and that grab rail 'wing' thing

I have set my seat on low and the rear seat forward and I quite like the mini backrest I get as a result. I think I will get the luggage rack cover when they finally arrive though as easier for touring and loading stuff.

That seat looks good though.

The seat looks good, and would look better with the rear rack removed.:rob But I heard that it is higher than the standard seat?

Yes I agree would look better, but the handles are great for pulling and pushing it around,

I have the seat front set on high and the rear on low, I would say it's about 15m/m higher,

I'll have to wait until monday to try it on a longer run, may try it on low front and rear, just to see what the difference makes,

I would't remove the grab rails at the back. It's a big bike to shift about manually and the rail at the back makes life a LOT easier. Stood by the side of the new beast I realised I'd struggle to just use the handlebars like I would do on my other bikes, it's more like grabbing a stag by the antlers and hoping it will behave.

I can appreciate cleaning up the back end, I have a naked and I've removed the rear pegs, tail tidy etc. On this bike that won't improve the aesthetics as much and losing practicality for the sake of that isn't a sensible choice imhoymmv.
