quite an impressive project, live in middle of nowhere, buy parts - new and used, build bike in 3 weeks:bow

RC30

I do question the sanity of peeps that do this kind of thing ;) but, bleeding heck, all respect to the guy. What a fantastic job :bow

He seems a bit clueless to me :augie

Makes my 250LC restoration look like Blue Peter!

£25k it says in Classic motorcycle mechanics - that's parts and from 2002 onwards.

Odd guy - not really into bikes, not bothered about riding it but has enough spares to build another :nenau

That conflicts with his statement in the link:

"There are some people who do not know me but have stated, insinuated or somehow assumed this bike is not ridden or is parked in a living room. Well.... This is the RC30 I ride the most, that is what is was built for, and that is what I use it for. If something breaks or wears out that's no big deal really, I don't need to find people to do the work for me."

I thought it said somewhere that he's done 200 miles on it, i.e. he rides it more often than his daughters rocking horse but not as often as his Alaskan Malamute :augie

Who the heck said I am not into bikes? That is absurd. I flew to Australia in November to go on a 4 day fast ride through WA. I have lots of bikes, ride them all, and ride them hard, when I can. I have owned bikes for almost 40 years with a short abstinence while I went to college and traveled. I use to race also. I should question your knowledge about motorcycles and the people who ride them for you to come up with statement like that. Then again I don't know you, just like you don't know me, so it wouldn't be right.

Carry on.

Rick

Nice job Rick

Bike looks fabulous

Like your work and attention to detail and enjoyed your article

Yours to do what the hell you like with and use as you please and spend whatever you want on it:thumb

Although listening to some on here I seriously wonder !!!

Enjoy Frank

Welcome to the forum Rick and a great job you did with your RC30, all credit to you, it was good build report too:beerjug:

Ouch! :clap

Strange ...

... I was reading the build report with 'the Big Bang Theory' on in the background, and I couldn't help but transpose the voice of Sheldon onto the report; it seemed to fit

Nice build, great bike, yours to do with as you please. Makes Mike O look a bit sloppy :D

What a great first post!
Welcome Rick, and I think you will fit in quite well here!
And fwiw, I think the RC30 is my top "stand and stare " - wish I had one - makes my 2012 Blade look average.

sorry mate, just shows how you can read the wrong thing from a written article.
pretty impressive that you found this thread though isn't it !
