Re-loading map source

Do I have to load the original V6 before loading update DVD V8.
I've seen a thread on here before but can'y find it.
Any help.

You can install it from the update DVD ..First explore the disk, then click on Cn.msi . If Mapsource does not find your gps,point it to Usb drivers on the disk or linstal a newer version of mapsource. There are some who have failed to have success with this method but for me it has never failed.
