Hi Stef.
Got my Ohlins up-rated by Harris - spring was originally a 140 (1150GS) - now a 160 if I remember correctly
.
Anyway, I sent it off to Harris who also re-shimmed damping to suit new spring, new oil, new piston seal etc for about £110??
I think your correct about the comp. & rebound damping adjusting together
- although we refer to it as "rebound" damping adjustment, it actually adjusts BOTH on units which do not have a seperate compression adjustment.
comp. damping is usually about 10% of rebound damping and is set to suit the bike with the shim stacks etc internally - but whatevever the ratio is set at internally ie 10%, 15% etc the rebound adjuster affects BOTH compression AND rebound to maintain this ratio throughout the range of external adjustment
Cheers......................Grizzly
