Rear brake caliper pin clip?

On an 1150, so instead of using long nosed pliers to remove the little 'c' shaped retaining clip, had the brainwave to prize it off with a screwdriver... ping... aint seen it since

Are they common enough to pick one up at a motor factors or is it a complete caliper and rear end in a kit from BMW

standard little clips... any automotive shop should have them... if not look in halfords... lots of little boxes full of stuff usually in the back corner! If you get stuck I'll post you one.. I have loads... somewhere... once the box is open they tend to migrate!

It'll probably do the job but any supplier of e-clips will do, if you have the time, to find a local engineering supplier or chatty motorfactors geezer who will sort you out. What about the man who sorts out your work bike?

Otherwise, ChavFords do a kit FOR A LIFETIME'S WORTH, as do many other, or Motorworks have a caliper kit ON THIS PAGE. I know because I've been there this week upgrading to stainless steel components.

Strictly speaking Bryn, you could just wrap some solid copper wire around there: It will hold the pin in place and will not rust so quickly.

Thanks for all the replies chaps I'll take the pin with me to work tomorrow and try a couple of motor factors while I'm out, but also ordered one of the ebay ones in case I draw a blank....

Lesson learned.... I know why they're called spring clips now
