The rear brake light switch on my Rallye 650 has seized on after all the crud it's been subjected to.

Can anyone tell me if it's the same as a standard 650 switch. Ta.

I haven't looked into this to much, but you can get banjo bolts with the switch included, with no moving parts exposed to the elements, and they aren't a great deal bigger than the bolt they replace.

I've got one on order for the husky...£20 iirc.

Tim,
Just been upside down in the garage looking at Jills 2001 brake light switch. Yours looks very similar, but short of removing the foot rest I couldn't say hand on heart it is identicle.

But I'd put a bet on it :thumb

Okerd little feka to see, let alone get at.

Yep, quite correct.
I would definayely be fitting one a banjo bolt pressure switch Tim, instead of trying to source a cocky micro-switch like that.

This is the item in question! A much better prospect.

Why do BMW, who build fantastic bikes, go and spoil them by cutting corners and putting crap on them like your standard brake switch? The chain guide on my XChallenge is just as rubbish...:spitfire:spitfire:spitfire

LTP, there is a newer design now available which has a tail of cable pre-moulded in to the banjo bolt and is totally waterproof. the cable is of a length that enable the connection high up towards the seat thus keeping it a dry as possible.
OK, these maybe tricky to fit if looms don't allow the connection position to be moved, but on new enduro bike road legalising projects, they are the mutts nutz.

Cheers that seems a much more reliable solution and as Timpo says, one with a pre-moulded cable would be perfect:thumb2
