Agree, but the original ones that came out, on 2014 bike with 6000 mls are different design to the dealer supplied replacements. Both Brembo marked.
Sintered pads installed by the dealer
After going thru the heartache of forking out for new pads and rear disc because the 2nd set didn't last 6K miles either, before ordering a spare pair at home I checked with the dealer to confirm whether using sintered pads would be an issue and they confirmed they are now standard, or at least for my 2013 which they fitted new pads on along with the new disc.
So my hope is they last considerably longer, at least beyond the next service. I'll get some EBC sintered spares, but I'm really hoping not to have to add another comment on this thread for at least another 10K miles ...

I talked to my BMW dealer today (in Belgium), and asked if he knew something about the rear brake pads wearing out fast (even before the 2nd service at 10.000km).
He mentioned that they had issue's with rear break pads wearing out early....he also mentioned that it occurs less with drivers that ride very 'active'...or more 'aggressive'
He advised me to brake late and hard when arriving at the traffic lights, instead of applying a whiff of the brake lever all the way up to the lights...sounds reasonable...
He was also astonished that even sintered pads wore quite fast.
I should keep an eye those rear pads for sure...

Update on my rear pads, what I thought was 1mm left turned out to half used after I had cleaned the edges of the removed pads up 
. So I've put them back in, should last another 3K at least.
