Rear brake pads

I fitted Ferrodo Platinum to mine,

The rear Brembo's had about 3mm left on them, the new ones 7mm

Really. I measured my new pads at 6.5mm including the backing plate when new.

going to order some pretty red ones and replace after trip to France

Before your trip if those are the BMW brand Brembo pads. Your brakes will also feel much better after bedding in.

There isn't much more friction material on new pads...

you're right there. They look like the same as the front pads for my F650 twin. I use it for commuting into central London and get max 6k out of a set!
