As a complete novice off road riding and with no knowledge of techniques... When standing on the Gs, how do you reach the back brake or do you need a different one?
Sorry may be a stupid question

That's why the gsa has an extra fold down section,
The only way will be adjustment on yours on the little threaded rod.
you can wind it back a bit there should be adjustment enough for you but it may be high then when sitting on it.

I bought pivot pegs for on mine and it makes it much easier

Adjusting the rod to position the rear brake lever will remove the small amount of play between it and the rear master cylinder, so then not allowing the master cylinder to return to its free, fully off, position .... thus causing the rear brake to bind :rob

However you do it, position the brake lever how you want it THEN adjust the rod to suit ... with a little free play :thumb

When I first got my bike, I always thought the pedal position was too low making my foot operate at the wrong angle when pressing the brake pedal so I got a lump of rubber, cut to shape and zip tied it on. Had it like this for over 2 years now. Much better.

That is truly hideous; thanks for posting :blast

Actually, thinking about it, I'm surprised Mark Hooton doesn't knock up a complete new arm as it's only a cheapo bit of bent metal and start flogging them.

Bought a second hand one this week as mine has rust marks. 20 quid from Holland. Used but perfect

Yes, it does look a bit crap but you don't see it when riding. Do you have a better suggestion that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and actually works ?

Buy an aftermarket adjustable brake lever, or fit the GSA one with the flip over off road height adjuster. Or just have another similar foot peg welded on and respray.
Anything other than a hideous blob of rubber zip tied in place

Terry

Improvise by gaffer-taping a small flat stone on the top of the lever. Worked for me for 2 weeks off road in South Africa on a hire bike :rob
