Hello, all!

I'm thinking about adding a rear "fog" light to my 1150GS. I'm not sure what to call it or where to find it. Essentially, I'm looking for a switcable (off/on) aux tail-light that is of a higher intensity for use in dim/foggy conditions. I've seen them before on rallye cars, and I'm fairly certain they're available to you folks in the UK and Europe.

Anyone have any suggestions or am I being daft about something?

Thanks!

Bohdan

You can get them from TT but there around £65. I ordered 20 wired 5mm LEDS and a small black box from Maplins for £1:99p...In total it cost about £8 in parts..The LEDS wire directly without the need for any other part.

Would it not hide the brake light when you are braking due to the brightness and glare in fog? :nenau

I just flash my brake lights off and on when I see something approaching behind to let them know I am there.

It depends where you put it, but it could hide a brake light so you have to be careful.

I'm intending to put one below the number plate, so it's well out of the way, and I'll make it up from LEDs so it should be both small and robust. Check out this thread by Atkule where he tweaked his brake light, it might be useful for some ideas.

Try this site.....

They have all the individual components you want (also a good source for BMW DIN style sockets and plugs).

I used them for the first time last Sunday. The stuff arrived yesterday.

Not sure if they will ship to the US though.
