UK again Pah!..
Just for Robnob and anyone else that is interested!

This is how I moved the rear footpegs on my 1150 Adventure (fitted with panniers) My wife has spent a few 10/12 hour days on the back and tells me it makes a huge difference having the pegs moved forward and down like this. I wear size 11 Oxtars and they dont get in the way of me either.

Materials were 4 new M8 bolts and Nylocks, and a length of 400 X 38 X 8 Alloy bar I had lying around.

Tools needed M8 tap and drill (both optional)
Hacksaw
Angle grinder
File
M8 clearance drill
Can of black spray paint

You will need to relieve the back of the original cast footpeg brackets slightly to allow the plate to sit flush.

Time taken with cup of tea around 1 hour

{Edit} Yes I know it needs a good clean as well!

Thanks for going to all this trouble Ovenpaa. It has certainly inspired me to make them instead of sourcing somewhere to buy them. When your wife puts all her weight on one peg to then swing a leg over to get on, does the peg flex inwards at all or does the 8mm ally bar stay in shape?

I hope you also managed to get your Katosh serviced and didn't have too many bits left over!

When they were fitted a mate (the supplier of the material) who is a healthy 110 kgs stood on one peg and bounced and yes it does flex but certainly not enough to worry about. My wife is an ex Danish squaddie so she also has some muscles and she has no problems with them flexing. I was running out of time so the pictures were a bit hurried, however I have some quality spanner time planned for next weekend so if you want I can take a plate off completely and scan it so you can get a real idea of what it looks like.

LC4 oil changes are 'interesting' luckily I only have to do them every 2,000 miles

Cheers
