Maybe just me as not changed pads for a while. I need to change the pads all round so elected to order the EBC sintered so FA363HH for the rear and FA335HH for the front.

The rear needed a good clean up so I started there first, out with the old pads, both are real low and with the pistons pushed right back the piston side went in fine but the wheel side was proper tight, I guess I could have tapped it in with a hammer, if I had the disk would be locked solid. Its as though the pad is a fraction too thick.

Before I have another go tomorrow on the rear to see whats causing the issue and having a go at the fronts has anyone any good tips?

Thanks Terry

G-clamp and a wooden chock to push the piston back in. If its corroded it may wreck the seals on the way back in, however. All you can do is try it.

Changing all 3 pairs of pads is really quick and easy provided all pistons are moving properly. Consider removing the whole caliper and having a good look at it from every angle. Then a piece of wood between the pistons - where the pads and disc would be - and a gentle waggle will let you see what's happening.

If the piston won't easily push back its seized or heading that way. Alloy corrosion under the seal expands and jams the piston. Early strip and clean can save the seal but often they are distorted. Use red grease in the seal groove to help reduce corrosion.

Thanks all, Front pads went in a treat no problems. The rear, in the daylight I could see the caliper floating slide( sorry don't know what the proper name is) was stiff, so no problems with the pistons, the piston side was easily inserted, it was the wheel side that would not fit. I managed to get a clamp on the slide mechanisum and get it moving so giving me more space on the wheelside. That'll teach me to try doing maintenance in the shadow light of an energy saving bulb. Thanks again for all your suggestions.
