Hi,

Has anyone had similar issues with their rear shock turning into a Scotoiler?

'07 1200GSA, 11K Miles, 19st Fat Bloke = Oil escaping from damper piston on rear shock :tears.

See piccie.......

BMW assistance to the rescue and looking at extended waranty replacement but after searching the forum i have not seen any other examples of losing oil from the shock apart from the damper adjusters.

Not having an aftermarket rear wheel/shock crud guard should not be an issue as it doesn't spend too much time offroading (occasional greenies :D).

Any thoughts on why this should happen?? - yes i know bike is dirty but i do ride it afterall!

I will be fitting an aftermarket Mudsling as a Barn Door approach but i am surprised this sort of failure occured.
