Is it possible to "flush" out the old shock oil on a standard 1150 (02) GS and refill it as a DIY job? I'm putting a new rear Hyperpro spring on and think the old oil could probably do with changing at the same time. Anyone dunnit?

I can't remember what it involved but when i took my rear shock off to fit a Hyperpro spring and found it leaking, I ended up having to send it to MCT in Stowmarket to get it done as it seemed to need specialist equipment to get it apart.

I believe they are a sealed unit. You can replace or top up the oil that activates the pre-load, but I don't think that's what you mean. If it is here's a link to how to do it
