dammned rear tail <hr style="color: rgb(87, 87, 87);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> hi :spitfire:spitfire:spitfire

i have already broken the tail of my HP2 rear subframe, that weak poor designed iron piece of sh___, Just a simple 30lts givi top case weighting 1,5 kgs and never reaching weight limit of 5 kg. that has been enough to brake the dammned tail. BMW maybe is going to install a new one on gurantee but. .......from now on.............

am i suppose not to charge again any pack on this silly rear tail?
shall i go again to the backpack era?
shall i travel again like with a couple of undies and a lighter?

Shall i have only soft luggage?Do you think this wunderlich rack is strong enough? oh, please i just need an small topcase for commuting, i promise to remove it when travelling and also off road...........
bncry.gif

due to this facts, i cannot see how hard cases and racks could be installed without collapsing the whole subframe................

You could always buy an RT!...:thumb

I was also thinking about a small topbox but looking at the design not really strong enough to take any weight at the back. Used an Ortlieb bag and tank bag on recent trip which worked fine. Have adopted the aproach of not carrying all the crap with me to work anymore which actually worked out well :D

Dude, get in touch with CrazyIvan on this site.
His friend Danny had the same problem, and they are clever guys when it come to engineering a problem away.
Send him a PM, I'm sure they'll be able to help.

Timpo.

Thank you guys.

Now that i am more relaxed let me write some thoughs:

i never bought this bike to install a top case on it, it came to me to do it after some months riding, but i´ve been many years with bikes with no topcases or cases or whatever as my CBR900RR was. so it is just a matter of locking the helmet somewhere and carry an small tankbag as i used to do.

I´ll sure go for the light luggage. An ortlieb drybag or a backpack tied to the seat and the small tankbag for rain clothes for small stuff.

i am still relcuctant to install the wunderlich rack, looks heavy.
