Rear wheel bearing puller? this any good

Ive been searching for a bearing puller that you don't have to adapt or grind down to fit underneath the main rear wheel bearing to make it easier to pull off...
What do you think to this ??

That looks like a fairly standard bearing puller - Sealey and others make sets of these and wouldn't need shipping from the States.

However, if you look at the size and arrangement of the big FD bearing, the puller in the video wouldn't really work - it's designed for pulling bearings off conventional shafts but the FD bearing isn't really on a shaft as such:

If you could find a pair of puller jaws similar to those in the video (but obviously quite a bit larger) which fitted the FD bearing, you could probably make up a custom puller which bore on the hub but it would end up a large, heavy piece of kit to carry around 'just in case'.

I've a design on my head for a small, light puller which engages with the outer rim of the big bearing and uses the wheel bolts. But without a crown wheel / bearing assembly (as in the picture above) to play with, I doubt I'll ever get round to making it

I've always used a couple of wedges to get it moving then tyre levers:nenau

You'd still need to space the bolt heads at least the thickness of the bearing...else it still wouldn't come off:D

Stick the bearing next to the exhaust and let it warm up and it falls off.:thumb2

Where's the fun in that? ;)

I want to make my puller and then sell them to a load of paranoid merkins

Well, I bought the cheapest bearing puller with 3 legs and ground the claws to a 5 mm depth with a bench grinder.
The outer diameter of the big bearing is 120 mm.

It works great.
