Just going over the bike after a long trip and spinning the back wheel it makes a rumbling noise and there is a little side to side play. It seems like it will be the rear wheel bearings, Any ideas how hard it is to do or what BMW charge. Its done 24000
thanks

Hi

I think BMW will be £xx pounds plus 4 zeros. There are independant workshops that have the specialised tools for rebuilding the FD's and they seem to be around 250 - 300 per rebuild on average.

A number of these floating FD bearings seem to have a little float when warm but then tighten up when cold, check the oil for metal. I replace the FD oil regulaly now, it only takes 30 mins and you can keep an eye on the unit.

If its got any roughness when you turn the wheel then the damage may already be done. :nenau

Depends whats wrong. My Crown wheel bearing went at 18K, it was replaced by a dealer for £260. BMW picked up the tab under goodwill even though the bike was 6 months out or warranty.
