Everywhere I dont really want to be...
Hi All,

Having just returned from a Euro trip with a few friends, I now understand the importance of good lighting i.e HID,s.

One of the riders had a HID kit on his KTM, and I was amazed that he was still visible so far back in the distance...Thats all I used to check for was his lights in the rear view mirror to ensure that he was still around...very visible, very noticable.

Sooo, any advice on the good/bad/ugly in the replacement lights department??

I would want complete "plug & play", good instructions, and replacement for both the main lights and also side/touring lights???

Cheers

John

Any of the vendors on here will sort you out with good kit, the only ones to avoid are the really cheap shite off ebay.

Also don't mount the ballast anywhere near the clocks as they play havoc with the RID panel.

I used to run spotlights but didn't find a need for them after switching to HID, neither have I used the main beam much too. :beerjug:

I bought an expensive one from someone on here about five years ago out for the dipped beam, when I replaced the main beam bought a set off ebay for about £30 with the same smaller ballast - has been fine for last three years and also replaced the bulb on the dipped beam when that went after three years. Fitted ballast under beak with Velcro and a couple of cable ties. Not convinced you get anything better by paying so much more - just don't order anything that is coming on a slow boat from China!
