Recommend a Digital SLR camera

The misses wants a digital SLR camera for christmas - just for general use - anyone got any recommendations please for current models - up to £350 ish.

Sony A100 A300 as you can buy any Minolta Dynax lens on ebay for very little. When Sony started making digital cameras they used the Minolta as a base so all the old lens fit. I've not had to pay more than £25 for any lens inc teles, wide angle etc
