Recommend a scanner

My old scanner's now up the pictures.

I'm looking for a new A4 flatbed for domestic use - nothing too fancy - USB connection; write to .pdf or .jpg etc; copy etc.

Not really interested in a printer/scanner.

What would you recommend?

My old flat bed packed up a fortnight ago so off I popped to the local PC World for a replacement. Easy I thought but oh no nothing but 3 in one printers and scanners in stock and the scanner resolution was pitiful on the majority of them.

Ended up with a Canon Lide 200 from the local Currys, last one in stock.

Find it an excellent little scanner though

Does slides and negs too.

Canoscan 4400F . A WHICH best buy last year . Cheap & easy to use , may be discontinued now though .

Canon every time imo, much as I'm a fan of Epson printers.
