Touratec seam to have a terrible reputation for delivery, but good for quality !! ??
I need a new chain guard after some off-roading in the Dales, what should I do ? :nenau

The rear part of both Sue's and mine fell off in Russia... both replaced under warranty when back home.

Before fitting I attacked mine with a sharp knife, hacksaw, fretsaw, chisel, hammer, Swiss Army knife, wet and dry paper, sandpaper, file, surform and moisturiser cream and removed the 'rear part' :thumb

Looks good, does the job, doesn't wobble about... :clap

Did the same with the otherside to leave just a cover over the rear caliper and speedo censor

I will have to go with Johnnyboxer on this one. The Roma tech chaing guard is the Dogs!! very quick delivery and very friendly ppl to deal with. Check their website to buy direct. I have no affiliation whatsoever to them apart from bieng a happy customer

well think it was me who found the romatech stuff :D
so better recommend them ;)
although i have a touratech one.
and a touratech spare one ;)

My Touratech one broke.

Those big holes they cut in it to make it lighter (like it really makes a difference) weakened it so much that vibration finished it off. The cracks eventually joined up, it fell off & the chain ate it.

Could always make one, its just a bent bit of metal with a couple of holes.

Thanks guys. Micky that looks surprisingly good, Dazzer had recommended the same mod when I damaged it.

Colt, sent you a pm :thumb

I`ll have to chip in with a Romatech vote...mine looks great. I bought the radiator guard as well and everything reeks of quality. They fit without trauma as well.

The after market alloy chain guards (and I use the word 'guards' in its loosest term) certainly look the dogs danglies... :thumb

BUT they don't do any guarding at all methinks, loadsa crap can get to the chain

Ride the bike? chop'n change the original part :clap
Sit looking at it? fit the alloy

:D well mickey thats why you need two "guards"
when you sit on the bike you cant see it that well,so if you have a spare one you can sit on the bike and look at it.

and yes they are crap ,hardly any any guarding
too short and wobble .think i will sell one :)
think they should have an enclosed chainguard bath like my old cg125
:)

Took the chain guard of this morning, hacksaw in hand, tyre felt a bit squidgy.
