Have the HG voyager suit that is excellent even after three years. I intend getting out more this winter and was wondering what oversuit would fit nicely over it, and is easy to put on. Also toying with the idea of good quality thermal clothing. Price is not really an issue as I would rather pay for something that works than throw money at something not as good. Do your best guys and no I am not a rich b@st@rd. Thanks in advance, Ricky. :thumb

Tesco's thermals are cheap and dead on some are a bit thick @about £3-4 for tops and bottoms. Helle Hanson (for that ewan look) and north cape ones are light wicking and warm about £20 for a top and £20 for the bottoms @ ski and Sport Dargan Rd Belfast.

For an oversuit go for an unlined one as they are easier to get on over a suit. Two pice ones are easyer than one but not as waterprooof unless you get the tucking in right :thumb

Marks & Sparks thermals are very good...or they were last time I bought them a few years ago..they seemed to last and stay in shape better than the cheaper ones that curl up in the drier too easily.

Army surplus shops do second hand NATO stuff dead cheap as well- it's good stuff as long as you don't mind olive drab underwear :D

Any decent ski shop will have a good range to........try Snow And Rock :thumb

Matalan are doing some micro fleece ones for about £6 each top and bottoms, used on the bike and when beach fishing and are nice and soft and keep ya really warm

Marks & Sparks have decent merino wool long johns & tops which are nice & warm...I got a coupla pairs last year.

I've got a black 2 piece oversuit. Made by Belstaff so probably not made any more as they have become an Italian fashion outfit. Infinity (several branches in SE) seem to have bought up a lot of the surplus stock from the former Belstaff distributor so you might be able to find one.

I've had the suit for 10 years. I like the flexibility of the 2 piece design. I can wear the trousers over my leathers whilst wearing a goretex jacket. The jacket, being black, is okay to wear as an emergency anorak should it rain whilst on holiday.

Also, I find that waterproof trousers always start to leak in the crotch area after a few years. A new pair of trousers costs about a tenner, less if you can tolerate the cheapo sort farmers wear. The original jacket remains waterproof. If I had a one piece suit then I would've thrown the whole thing away after about 5 years.

So, get a black 2 piece: any make but if you can find a Belstaff one then that will serve you for many years.

Thermals: Lidl will have loads of winter wear next week. http://www.lidl.co.uk/gb/home.nsf/p...ts_Underwear_Long-Sleeved_Vests_or_Long_Johns
