Recommendations re: one man tent?

My old faithful tent (veteran of the Battle of Glastonbury 1990) has called it a day at last. I need a one-man tent (Mrs Retro refuses life under canvas) with one of those outside flap thingys for cooking etc - but there seems to be a massive choice.

I only go camping spring/summer and er...ok autumn if bearable, so I spose 2 season would do the job.
Also has to be v.lightweight and small when packed, also able to be easily erected in a force nine by a total tw*t (ie me).

My budget is up to £150. Any ideas?

You might be able to get a Vau-De in a sale for around £150, but they're normally over £200

Personally I would get a 2 man tent as the little extra space comes in pretty handy from time to time.

Decathlon also do a fair range of tents and going into spring should have some specials soon.

GearZone have a Vau-De Taurus 1, 2-man 3-season tent for £107.99 which seems a bit of a bargain .... could replace my sleeping bag too at that price ...

Is Vau-De good kit then? I'm not well up on such matters as you can probably guess .....

Why not buy my tent?

For the first time ever I went to the Isle of mann TT races last year

I did not have a tent so bought a lightweight and compact Vango something in the sale from my local camping shop. Was £150 reduced to £100. Has all the features you are talking about plus somewhere to lay out your damp clothing without having to lay on top.

It is unlikly I will be going to the TT again (unless I can find a hotel) and my tent is now surplus t requirements.

£50 (buyer pays the postage or collects) and it is yours.

If you are not interested let me know and I may as well put it on the general for sale board.
