My wife uses an iPad that's about 4 years old. It's 16GB and full. So it's slow and generally showing its age.
With the recent price increase of Apple products a proposed changes to an iPad Pro has been brought into question.
I am in the USA at the moment and the local Costco is doing a Samsung s2 9.7 32GB for about £50 cheaper than the best price in the UK.
I showed her the tablet and with her using a Samsung phone found some similarities.
So that's a good start.
Can any users of this tablet pass on their comments good and bad on it.

I also came across in Best Buy a Samsung tab A with a stylus. She was quite drawn to the iPad Pro with pen but this is so....... Much more affordable. Screen resolution not as good as the s2 but is that worthy of consideration.

Had a Tab A for about a year now, after about 3yrs with an ipad2.

Much prefer the Tab A, especially for transferring files to/from a PC.

Make sure you get a 4g unit otherwise just wifi connection, no roaming.

I'm swyping this on a TAB S2 8 inch, the smaller size suits my travel needs and biking. 32gb + it has 200gb SD card.
It gels with my laptop and Samsung phone.
I always have phone and tablet on me so I decided to drop 4g and just use phone tethering if I don't have WiFi.
I regularly use 1 of 3 iPads now, latest model this year, no idea why most people need/use iPad I find them clunky in operation and far less intuitive than the S2.
My adult daughter who is a big iPad fan had now used the S2 a few times and has admitted that she now prefers it.

Thanks for the advice, the screen on the s2 is just as good as the iPad, well that's what my wife thinks. The ability to gel with her phone is a big plus.

With the bonus of a micro SD card slot it has a lot going for it. Then there is the price, no contest there.
I think it's worth ago. I have an old dell tablet that runs Windows and have never really found the OS natural to me. But that's probably me. The android system should be ok for my wife, she has used it on her phones for years.

I'm a true Apple nut ... Have loved their designs and software since 1989.

However; they have lost their way.
Android is much more stable than it was a year ago. The iPad pro is phenomenally expensive.

Go for the Samsung!

Well ended up with an iPad 9.7 pro, got a bit discount with a education users allowance and since Donald got in the exchange rate over here has improved. It was the apple pen that swung it in the end. It's so responsive for the wife who struggles with the length of her nails.

If it was me the samsung tab S2 would have won the day. As StuartW said the android system cannot be faulted when comparing it to the iPad Pro. I think I will be a buy one for myself and this old iPad I'm typing on will be a gift for someone. I was that impressed.

The apple prices are simply silly at the moment. For anyone in the USA on Black Friday Best Buy have released their promotions today.
There are some good discounts.
