Recover music from stolen iphone?

My little sister had her iphone stolen today. She's upset at losing the phone but more upset at losing her music collection (about a grands worth apparently ). All of the music was bought on her iphone and downloaded straight to it. If I install itunes on a copy of Vista and stick her itunes username and password in, can I then download her previously purchased music so we've at least got a copy of it?

Or has she lost all that as well?

If brought through iTunes, an email to them should let them put it back up for download to another device or pc in iTunes.

i think that's about her only option. apple don't publicly admit to such a service AFAIK, but i have heard of them doing such things if asked nicely.

I would think its very easy as I have iTunes on a few computers and can easily download previously purchased music and apps on any of these computers. Can't even see the need for emailing Apple, though this was the case in previous versions of iTunes.

Just make sure she has the latest version of iTunes and log in using the apple ID she's used on her iPhone. She should then be able to download all her previously purchased items. I would try menu STORE and then option CHECK FOR AVAILABLE DOWNLOADS. Also when I look at items in iTunes the side menu bar lists STore and under that is Purchased. When I select that I get an option at the bottom right hand of the screen to Download Previous Purchases.

Hopefully the above should work but then if not then contact Apple and I am sure they will sort it all out. I just wish they would use their network/iTunes to trace and recover stolen/lost iPhone/iPods that people are using illegally.

having now had a poke around, i think the previous poster is spot on. iTunes has had this option for a short while now.
