does anybody know anything about these,

been on GARMIN SITE and looked around the TOPO GREAT BRITAIN trying to look for BYWAYS etc seems to show BYWAYS near my drum as PATHS

it says that it is done by OS maps

Just a shot in the dark here (I am not familiar with the map product you refer to): 'Byways' is a word that is not used in either North America or by people who use the English language outside of the British Isles. I suspect that whatever it is you are looking for is present on the map, but it will be identified by a word that is synonymous with 'Byway' - probably path, trail, etc.

Kind of like if you can't find the lift, try asking someone where the elevator is.
