I just had my rear shock refurbished and am in the process of refitting. Got the shock back in place without too much trouble but the routing of the pipe to the rear preload adjuster doesn't seem right. When I took it off the pipe was secured with 2 cable ties. There's no way I can fit 2 cable ties now. I can get 1 at best but even that pulls the pipe quite tight. I think the banjo underneath the preload adjuster might have been moved.

What's the correct routing for the pipe?
What direction should the banjo bolt be?
Can I loosen the banjo to move it without pissing oil all over the place?

Answers on a postcard please...

...with fotos if possible:D

Hi,

Mine has been without a single tie for two years now and it has not come into contact with the tire. I can post a picture for you in the evening.
Just DON'T loosen the banjo! It has pressure in the system for a reason.

Bollocks, wind adjuster all the way out, slacken banjo sligjtly and move banjo to where you want it and nip it up.

That's exactly what to do. You only need to loosen it a half a turn to be able to move the banjo bolt without the risk of loosing fluid from the preload adjuster. To 'bleed' it, just run it through the full range from soft to hard and return it back to its previous setting.
