The Haynes museum is a handy location. If you are attending with someone who hasn't booked a ride, there's always the museum and the cafe isn't bad.

THIS WEEKEND ;-)

Well worth a visit...

At the show - Avon & Somerset Police BikeSafe team, South West Ambulance Service Trust, Devon and Somerset Fire Service, Local authorities, Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) and other independent motorcycle training services together with local retailers who will be offering test rides on the latest machines.

If you want a test ride remember to take your driving licence!

"Haynes International Motor Museum has a world-renowned exhibition of vehicles and provides an excellent venue for this event," said PS Mike Smalley. "Rider training is the best accessory that you can buy for your bike or your partner's son's or daughter's machine."

The Hayne's Bikesafe weekend is free and there is no need to book, the one-day events will then cost just £10 to cover administration costs.

Bikesafe south west...

hi all,

Just home from the bike safe meet at the Haynes Museum..

Despite the on /off weather we all had a great day.

You've never seen so many police bikes in one place, didnt count them but it was a brilliant turn out on their behalf.. Loads of bikers too thankfully, lots of people made the effort..

We did the ride out which was very helpful to everyone who took part.. Serves to give you an "independant" view of your standard of riding, and they offer you advice on the bits you need to improve on for your own safety and tell you where you're going right too.. Tagged on to the ride was a session with the Ambulance guys giving you a taster of the FBOS course, and showing how to safely remove the helmet of an injured rider.. All very good too, looking forwards to doing the course in Exeter end of May.. All in all a good day well spent.. Year on year they're building this up, adding bits and trying to attract more commercial and other interest groups etc.. So its a bit of "watch this space" i'm thinking..

Big "thank you" to all who helped to make this an interesting and imformative day for us ...

Joe C
