Dereham, Norfolk, today...
I fitted a reinforced subframe to my last Adv, but it was lost in a fire, so I thought it was time to prepare one for the new one. I've never had any cracking snags on the subframe, but it's an acknowledged weak point and - as I had a spare subframe knocking about - thought it would be worth doing.

I did several shady deals with Chad of this parish, as a result of which he agreed to do the welding work and then get the finished article powder coated. For various reasons this as been a very long process, but today I drove down to Chad's house of genetically-modified Africa Twins in darkest Essex to pick up the finished article (which has been ready for me to pick up since Sept 2014!).

What a top chap - look at that...

A fantastic powder-coat finish too (from Maldon Shot-blasting & Powder-coating) - every thread was clear and the satin finish absolutely beautiful. These guys may tempt me away from Aerocoat!:bow

I probably won't fit it until the winter (as it's a ballache of a job - especially with all the extra crap I have on the rear of the bike). Until then I think I might keep it in the lounge as a piece of modern art... :D

My dog Marnie having laid waste to Chad's house and eaten all the cat food, I decided it was time to go, hoping the bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape might in some way make up for the chaos she caused.

Good to see you Chad - thanks again! :thumb2
