Ok sorry I'm not that clever. :(
Is that a fuel injection unit or some kind of cleverly homemade carb?

On second look - is it a diesel?????

There's nowt so queer as folk: Airhead owners fitting fuel injection on the one hand...and oilhead owners converting to carbs on the other.

:D

Im converting my gs to Desmo valves safto.

That'l confuse 'em !

The first question that pops into my head is 'why'?
Carbs work well, are reliable and don't depend on a bunch of computers and sensors to make them work :nenau

BM only fitted injection to the 1100 to get around emission regulations - they'd have fitted carbs if they could.

But leaving that aside, it's a nice engineering job - what are those throttle bodies off? It must have been a right job to size the injectors and get the fuel / ignition map right (I'd guess the ignition is controlled by the ECU as well?...). I wonder if it's open or closed loop control and where he found the space to fit the ECU and wiring? I also wonder whether he uses batch injection like oilheads or delivers the whole shot on the induction stroke?
Questions, questions....

Just wondering if my oilhead :ymca is now an airhead :weights as it has carbs and is aircooled

I think it fails the crucial test.
Rob posted on here that a carbed oilhead would definitely not qualify for admission to a 'wee'kend :D

No info on ther bike.:(
just found the piccy on ADV,my first thought was ! why.
But then why not :nenau

Not the same as those shown, but Slient-Hektik also do a kit - ICM_Boxer

Big €€'s though...

I seem to remember a few years ago a couple of injection kits on the market for airheads.
About as useful as the krauser 4 valve head kit that was also available :mmmm

I agree with the Maestro, after having ridden and owned examples with both the above fitted...
as much use as TITS on a Bull....

IMHO of course :rob

The problem with injection is that there is no CV facility , so you just dont have the air flow at slower revs.

This isnt so much of a problem on a high reving engine, or with high pressure sequential injection, and modern and extremely complex electronics can mask the symptom, but a crude old system like that would have , err, fueling difficulties, under around 4000 revs.

So what?
you set tickover at 4000 revs.
I dunno- some people look for problems.
