Hi Guys,

I know, from several threads here, that Hilltop do a sterling job with remapping but for for various reasons I'm gonna find it hard to get up there. :toungincheek

Is there anywhere in the south, ideally around Southampton way, that you'd entrust your beloved to to get an akra fitted and a remap done?

Cheers in advance :D

Do it once, do it right - make that trip to Leicestershire.:beerjug:

Great people with top results, by all accounts. The problem being I can't readily get up there as I'm Dartford/New Forest based.

Yep, real old fashioned frontiersman me

Didn't really want to go into my life story but........ untill I have my knee, and possibly hip, operated on it's agony after half an hour.

Perhaps I'll take it on the bus? :thumb2

Kim,

Shot you that PM.. well worth seeing Mr Geoff @ Hilltop if you possibly can :thumb

Good luck with it.

Cheers Rob

Got the very helpful PM mate, much appreciated :thumb2

I think you're right about booking both together and making it into mini trip over a few days.

feck,im surprised you can ride at all, hope you get it sorted,i reckon theres no rush for the remap though:beerjug:

Pain from hips can radiate to the knee. Its less likely to go the other way. So with a dodgy knee and a dodgy hip, I would be suggesting to get the hip done first (when it gets bad enough). Get well soon.

Thanks guys.

Most of the damage was done in the early 80's when a surgeon put 2 pins in my tibia with a sledgehammer and a good run up!! haha.

Now, with my advancing years, it seems to be taking it's toll :rob

Being a fat fecker probably doesn't help either

Your knee has done well after that!!!

In 1992, my mum had her tibia split down the middle but because of skin damage they refused to operate. Until she got skin grafts, the fracture line was exposed every time dressings were changed so what the risk of infection was there anyway. But rules is rules.

She had skin grafts and the bone healed skewed. Within 5 years she needed a new knee. NHS clinical guidelines (sorry rules) were applied just as rigidly back then as today.

You could get someone else to ride it there, if you would trust anyone! Probs get some offers on that around here.
