I worked for Johnny Brittain while I was at TP Riley school Bloxwich. from school 4pm to 6 pm Monday and Friday and all day Saturday..1960/64
It was probably me or Andy who were on the g/s at Walsall Bike Center as I helped out there for 6 years+...Used to be a race for the 80g/s keys if an errand had to be run :D

Only sold 3 of them in 3 years.. but the demo one [ 1981 original ] was kept by the boss after he closed WBC down [ persistent theft by a member of staff :(]

Reading all the bikes shops and remembering their names has brought back fond memories.

Vale Onslows on Stratford Road to me was a mecca for a Saturday ride out.

I used to work for Hailwood and Gould in the early 80's, had some fab times there and remember when Oliver Tobias came and exchanged his red Honda Supadream for a Ducati 900...He was riding it to Switzerland the following week...I got a phone call from Oliver around 2 weeks later, Hi Luci its Oliver, can you order me a new fairing please for the bike....oops the boy had dropped it.

Don't forget Fred Hanks on Slade Road Erdington too, now run by Roy Hanks.

Speedaway Black Heath.

Remember it on Shell Corner and Harry Bastable. My dad used to watch in the 50's at the brum Speedaway and Harry always used to have very polished black leathers. His son Steve still runs the shop. And Harry is still playing golf !

What was the one on the A38 between rubery and longbridge?

Crikey, this takes me back.

I remember the first Streetbike in Dudley, me and a mate drooled through the window when the RD500 first appeared. All we could muster was "I think Yamaha are trying to kill us" :D

I bought my new RD125 from the dealer whose name I can't remember on the High St in West Brom. The next day I grazed a wall after having a cornering issue :thumb
