Removable baffle for BOS silencer

Not at all - have even been out riding with the boys in blue. It's not exactly loud with the baffle out though is it, just a bit more 'fruity' :thumb2

You won't feck it up, honest. Mine goes back in (for long trips) on a regular basis - they are meant to be able to be removed and replaced.

Heeding your advice I may re evaluate my reasoning process come Spring, any "noticeable" power differences between in & out ? ...

Tight baffle in a Bos

Been reliably told that the way to do this without mashing up the visible end of the baffle is to:
a) remove the can from the bike. If you look down the "inlet" end of the can the baffle's clearly visible.
b) using a steel tube or similar, gently tap away at the baffle until it's free.
c) once the baffle's out file off all the sharp edges of the baffle where it contacts the outer.
d) when replacing, if you want to, smear copperslip grease over all contact surfaces. Some of the grease will burn off but the copper residue will remain.
I'm told that all this takes around 30 mins, which is probably considerably less than you've spent already! Also, removing those sharp edges should make on-bike removal easy in future.
Have just received mine from Bahnstormers and shall be doing the same at the weekend!
Good luck.

That's where I got mine from:thumb Wish I had known this before I fitted it still it won't take long to take it off again. Shame I have marked the baffle a bit trying to get it out:eek:

At the MOT the mechanics were interested to hear what my can sounded like without the baffle and removed it with my permission. The can sounded exactly the same in the garage, don't know what it would be like on the road, or if there would be any diffence in power, by the way the cat has been removed.
