Remus exhaust at Mot time?

Wondered whether one of you kind lot could help..
My recently aquired 1150GS is nearing its Mot and currently has a rather 'fruity' sounding Remus exhaust, minus the baffles.
Is this likely to present a problem, or should I best attempt to refit them prior to the test?
Should add that the bike is not especially noisy (certainly not had any complaints from the neighbours!) and to my mind only sounds sporty during spirited take-off's.
Should you consider their replacement necessary then I'd appreciate some advice on this procedure.

Noise test isn't part of the bike MOT so nothing to worry about. Both my old GS and new GSA had / have Remus headers, pipe and no baffle and passed without comment.

As long as is doesn't say "Not for road use" then no prob

I have a Remus with baffle in and for the first time this year I got an advisory on noise. When i enquired the chap said that the DVLA or whoever it is have asked MOTers to be a bit more stringent on noise.

EXHAUST SYSTEM

The decibel level will be assessed at the discretion of the tester, other checks are:
The exhaust mountings must be secure and not fouling any part of the rear suspension
The exhaust must not be holed and free from leaks from both joints and box(es)
Replacements units, other than bikes registered before 01.Jan.1985, must have the BSAU 193 stamp

Remus exhaust & Mot / Replies

Thank you gentlemen for your ideas and experience. It appears that my exhaust which is in good condition and securely fixed should not present a problem... Less I end up with an objectionable tester who's having a bad day!
Thought the government had restricted number of Mot test stations over the past few years in order to remove this variable!
Looks as tho I shall be taking the bike along to a tester I've used recently... with the baffle and a screwdriver in the top-box, just in case!
Now I only have to read up how to re-fit it should the necessity arise!

It will only fit one way and there is one little grub screw fer christ sake......you are a fella I assume so you shouldn't be reading the instructions anyway

Newly acquired Mot with Remus exhaust, w/o baffles!

Took the GS for its Mot today to a tester I've used in the past, who is thorough, but fair. Took the precaution of taking the baffle along too, just in case it needed to be fitted quickly to avoid a re-test.
Thought I might have problems when he revved the engine(Did sound rather loud in the enclosed space), but other than giving the exhaust a close inspection and peering into it he said nothing.
Bike passed, without any advisory's and when asked if there was anything I should keep an eye on(After the certificate was in myhand), he said, none and that it flew through.
Must admit this was a relief as I consider overly quiet bikes to be dangerous.. Even if 'they' don't see me, they might at least hear that I'm nearby!
