Remus Headers.

Do you mean the Y-piece (cat replacement) and exhaust? I don't recall that Remus ever did full headers for the 1150.

Rugged Roads do them - plenty of other places too.

EDIT: Rugged Roads used to do them - not any more apparently. Maybe Remus stopped manufacturing them so your options are either used or another brand. MIV do y-pieces - I've used their stuff before (on other bikes) and found it to be good quality.

I would recommend buying the y-piece first and fitting it with the standard can to see how you get on. Or keep the cat and change the can. Volume is pretty subjective but a Y-piece and Remus can combined is quite loud - it didn't bother me 20 years ago on my first 1150 when I ran that combo but now I find it just a bit too much on the current one. I've been running with the Remus can the past couple of weeks but I think if I was touring I'd switch back to the standard can to slip under more people's radar.

Early 2000's I went through a number of combinations of Remus Y piece / standard cat / standard pipe and Remus road/race end can .... with respect to noise vs performance I found either standard cat with Remus road pipe or Remus Y piece and standard can was the best regarding performance and noise level.

The Y piece and Remus road can was too loud for me on longer journeys and the Y piece and Remus race can was ear bleeding loud , I ended up opting for the Y piece and the standard can as best compromise (the Remus road can and standard cat was as said fine but I wanted shot of the heavy cat) .

Seat of the pants, there’s no appreciable difference between the two cans in performance terms. I prefer the look of the Remus and the idea of losing a kilo or two (hardly significant on a GS!) but putting aside aesthetics and vanity I think the standard can makes most sense with the y-piece. It’s not as if you can’t hear it.
