Thanks Micky - that's a great help. I'll get myself a K&N for the trip then. I noticed that you have the Foglights fitted on your bike - do they work well? Are they worth the £200+ price tag?

Cheers

Charlie

I'd always fit a K&N filter, not for any extra performance but for long term longevity and savings. 42,000 miles now on my Dakar, so the K&N has paid for itself. I don't think that any mods to the snorkel intake would make that much difference... the engine can pull in all the air that it needs anyway methinks.

Garfieldus... a photo of my bike with the Wunderlich lower bars fitted.

Wonderboy... howd'ya go round corners with that Wunderlich centre stand on... had to take mine off because it was grounding out in the twisties

Now fitted a Touratech centre stand and now no sparks... no probs!

Not with the TKC's on though  Keep the 21" front rim and standard rear wheel with the TKC's for off roading. Have a 19" front wheel and spare rear wheel with Tourances fitted for 'normal' road use :D

Fitted the TT foglight and Xenon aux. headlight on to my 1150GS, then on my 1150GS-A and now my F650. They've done at least 185,000 miles so they've been worth every penny :thumb2

They also light up the night exceedingly well :thumb2

Twin headlight conversion I bought while down at Touratech... that has a Xenon headlight... superb :thumb2

Hope this of help Charlie

That's great - Thanks for the info Micky!

i've got the twin fogs on my 650, very good for low down light, especially to the sides of the bike.

You can pick up a set of de's for around £100 If you think you can fab up the brackets. I thought the brackets / loom / ease of fitment were worth the extra £50 a side. :thumb

Get the tt dual headlight setup if you can afford it , if even only for the hid high beam. Its awsome. I put a hid in the low beam as well :augie

:D

Does anyone have experience of running an F650 with a Remus exhaust fitted?

If so do they sound ok & what effect (if any) do they have on performance?

:nenau

Yes and I can honestly say it was the biggest waste of money I spent!.... Poor quality and even worse service from both Remus and Performance parts the importer..:spitfire

save your money and get an Akroprovic, or Arrow

Thanks again for the info - where can I get the tt dual headlight converstion from? How much does it cost?

hope you are sat down.

you can get them from touratech and they are

£ 412,39 inc vat

If you say it quickly it doesn't hurt as much. Bbeware of that site tho, you'll start wanting other bits for your bike :D

OWCH!

Glad I was down at Touratch last year and bought mine over the counter. Got a good deal because of a bit of damage to the driveshaft of my 1200GS-A when I had fitted their hugger... and it broke.. (hugger not the drive shaft!)

Because neither of us were Freemasons... :augie

£226.18 :D

Tell me about it! I went looking for lights and came back with a centre stand and engine bars!

Been thinking about new pipes. It's all new to me, Is it best to replace the lot or just the cans, I want to keep the two can look so need the cross over pipe as well. Also I use the OEM panniers all the time so need a sytem that will be ok with them. What's the best option?

My bike runs with a K&N air filter and a Remus exhaust , as I to wanted to keep the two silencer look. We have used Remus for many years, this is the eighth system from them. They are well made, fit, work properly and sound nice and are developed in an area where lots of adventure sport bikes are used. Now I have to say that the K&N made the biggest difference to midrange performance, but the package works very well and I average 84mpg. Paniers still fit, but are tight to get on and off and would look silly with just 1 silencer sticking out. sue
