Searched, and although plenty comments about the pros and cons, I cannot find any info on which actual rivet you remove to get the baffle out. There was no info with the can. Sorry about being such a donkey re this, but can anyone advise please.:nenau

from memory it's near the back underneath. Just drill it and give the inner sleeve a tug with vice grips and hey presto. Did mine long ago and it's worthwhile - no idea where the baffle is anymore :blast

Correct ... it's the one at the bottom, underneath the exit 'pipe'.

BE CAREFUL when you've finished drilling as it (the top of the rivet) could slip and make its way DOWN the exhaust! Once the rivet is removed it can take a bit of pulling and pushing to work the thing loose and pull out!

Good luck.

or speak to the guy on here looking for a baffle and do a swap :)

Stupid question maybe... but does removing the baffle give you any more noticeable power?

I take it makes it more noisy as well?

no not really just makes it sound a bit more throaty............

I have a remus on min ecurrently with the baffle in................could removing the baffle be harmful to the engine?? Would it make it run too lean??

Im not mechanically minded so forgive me if this is a dumb question

Cheers

If you have a fuel injected engine it cannot run too lean unless the fuel management computer goes on the blink - it will set the mixture according to the engine situation......leave the choke on accidently and the mixture manager will simply lean off the fuel to match. You will lose power then, which will make you wonder what is wrong, the you will look around and find the muppetry in question.

1150GS, Remus + Y piece with baffle IN. No noticeable difference in power or noise.

1150GS, Remus + Y piece with baffle OUT. No noticeable difference in power or noise.

Just my tuppence worth!

I actually tell a small untruth. With the baffle out, the bike backfires an awful lot. So mine stays in!

Way more power with the baffle out ... 20, 30 hp perhaps ...

WELL, I needed a reason for drilling it out ... :augie

Agree with the others - can't notice any difference, louder and certainly backfires a bit more - great sounding backfires and 'gurgling', though :bounce1
