I'm aware that both the BWM panniers for the 1200 AND the Remus Revolution Can have been redesigned.

The panniers are now fitted with a steel heatshield.

The Can is redesigned to make the Remus supplied can shield that used to be required no longer necessary.

I have a pre modified can and panniers fitted with a heat shield.

Am I okay not to suffer (PMS) pannier meltdown Syndrome!

I was going to ask the same question but Wraithwrider got there first.

Any idea's anybody: old remus + new panniers = meltdown??

Yep, I think I've got the old remus can with the newer panniers, the can was fitted on the bike when it was a demo for SPC, I fitted the panniers late September, the LH has the shiny metal protector and seems fine, the only problem is a slight burning of the rear number plate!

11000mls now and getting better!

Shep

I have the modified pannier shield and the Remus Titanium can, don`t know whether the can is the modified one or not, but have had no problems. :D

I've not noticed this yet - do you only get burning of the plate when you fit the panniers then??

Hi GSmonkey

I always have the panniers on now, so I don't know any difference! SPC promised to replace the plate next service, so I'll keep an eye on it from then on.

Regards Shep

well....

not a problem with ali TT cases!! :P
but if plastic cases are your thing... best make a real heat shield! :P ;) :D

Number plate meltdown - easily avoided with smaller plate ;)

Wow, what a surprise. I posted this question here, on the 'other' site and at Advrider and got diddly squat in the way of replies.

Then along comes GSMonkey and you all sit up and notice:D

So it seems the good news is the panniers will be okay.

The bad news is my rear plates suffering from melting syndrome, and that's without having the panniers fitted but as it 'appens I'm not too worried if it just gets a bit frazzled around the edges.

....need to be careful it doesn't become unreadable by speed cameras:D

You're just being clever because you've got one more post than me.

HA! Now we're even;)

No we're not:eek: I have a feeling this 'debate' could go on some what:D :D :D
